Hello, I’m Janet Reasoner, owner of Wild Moon Services. All the marketing people say I’m supposed to have a photo here and one of these days I’ll get one I like and post it up. In the meantime, here’s the important stuff about me.
I’ve been working with nonprofits for over 30 years and have run a small business for nearly 11. When I needed a new website for my business, I decided to learn WordPress and set it up myself. It was so rewarding – seeing a website emerge from the ideas in my head – that I wanted to do this work for others.
So I started Wild Moon Services with a mission to help you connect your organization to the world through great communication.
I’ve built new websites for several organizations, including nonprofits and outreach groups. One was completed in under a week! You can see some examples of my work in my portfolio page here.
Over the years, I’ve helped employers, coworkers, and clients to write and edit email blasts, fundraising letters, training documents, procedure manuals, web copy, and much more. I’ve also designed forms of all kinds, from employment applications to pledge cards, from return envelopes to complex data entry forms mirroring an online database.

Experience
Communicating effectively has long been one of my passions. Some of my work experience includes:
Quality Assurance Manager for a national housing nonprofit, writing and developing training manuals and materials for housing counseling staff and designing forms for partner organizations to use in gathering information from prospective homeowner/clients.

Outreach and Fundraising for a statewide advocacy organization, setting up an email alert program and building an online fundraising program that brought in 20 percent more funding in the first year it was implemented. The campaign also raised awareness of important public issues.
Grant Writing and Reporting for many clients in media and advocacy organizations, conveying organizational goals and objectives into winning proposals and solid reports, raising an average of $400,000 for a medium-sized media nonprofit over the last seven years and $6 million for small community-based nonprofits over six years.
Other experience includes:
- Three years in workplace fundraising, including running two very successful campaign seasons for Community Shares of Louisiana and one year as Executive Director of the Union Community Fund of Greater New Orleans.
- Four years in public television in Denver, CO, learning about marketing and building membership.
- Seven years coaching community organizers on successful foundation and grassroots fundraising.
